Cabinet problems pull-outs fix in Lisle

Most base cabinets are deep enough to lose a stockpot in. In Lisle we measure each opening, build roll-out shelves to fit between the hinges and install them on full-extension slides, so everything in the cabinet comes out to you.

Original 1980s cabinets with fixed shelves

Cabinets from the 1980s usually have one fixed shelf halfway up. Removing it and adding two roll-outs makes the space usable.

Small condo kitchen

Compact Lisle condo kitchens have few cabinets, so each one has to work. Roll-outs and slim pull-outs add usable space without changing the layout.

Doors and hinges in the way

Many cabinets have a face frame and hinges that narrow the opening. We size each roll-out to clear them so the shelf passes the door.

Lazy Susan that sticks or wobbles

Old lazy Susans sag and jam. We take out the old unit and fit a new one sized to the corner cabinet.

Trash can in the walkway

Freestanding cans get kicked and smell. A cabinet pull-out with lids or a door-mounted unit tucks them away.

Messy cabinet under the sink

A roll-out under the sink has to work around the disposal, the trap and any filter. We measure each before ordering.

Baking sheets and cutting boards jammed in

Sheet pans fit best on edge. We add tray dividers to a base cabinet or the cabinet over the oven or fridge.

Cramped upper cabinets

If the top shelf of the wall cabinets is out of reach, a pull-down mechanism or reorganized inserts can help.

Before and after: a townhouse from the 1990s in Lisle

A townhouse from the 1990s near The Meadows, a typical kitchen for Lisle. The kitchen as it was: white raised-panel thermofoil cabinets. The reason for the call: cabinets they had to kneel to reach into. The result: two wooden roll-out shelves in the deep base cabinet, pots and pans in neat rows that slide out to the front. Work included cabinet-by-cabinet review, removing fixed shelves, plus installing roll-out shelves.

Pull-Out Shelves & Cabinet Organizers questions from Lisle homeowners

Do roll-outs lose cabinet space?
A little width goes to the slides and hinge clearance, but you gain far more by being able to use the whole depth.
How much weight can a pull-out shelf hold?
Enough for cast iron and stand mixers when the right slides are used, which is why we ask what you'll store.
Do pull-outs fit older cabinets?
Usually. We check that the sides and frame are solid enough to carry the slides, and add spacers where the face frame overhangs.
Do pull-out shelves work for deep cabinets?
They're made for them. We size the shelf to the full depth so no space is lost.
Can you add pull-out drawers to kitchen cabinets that have doors?
Yes. The doors stay; you open them and pull the shelf out behind them.
Do Lisle condo associations need to approve pull-out shelf installation?
Associations usually set rules for work hours, elevators, deliveries and insurance, and many require approval for plumbing, electrical or structural changes. We provide the certificate of insurance and follow the building's rules.
Do you work in my part of Lisle?
Yes. Our crews work across Lisle, including Oakview, The Meadows, Four Lakes Village — ZIP 60532 — and nearby Downers Grove, Woodridge, Wheaton.
