Original 1970s cabinets with fixed shelves
Cabinets from the 1970s usually have one fixed shelf halfway up. Removing it and adding two roll-outs makes the space usable.
Serving Itasca & nearby Wood Dale, Elk Grove Village
We fit roll-out shelves, trash pull-outs and corner organizers into the cabinets already in your Itasca kitchen.
You don't need new cabinets to get drawers that slide. Our Itasca installers add pull-out shelves, trash units, spice pull-outs and corner hardware to the boxes you already have, usually in one visit after measuring.

In a condo galley there's no room to add cabinets. Retrofitting the existing ones with pull-outs and dividers is the practical way to gain storage.
Cleaning bottles crowded around the trap are hard to reach. Under-sink pull-outs are built around the pipes, not on top of them.
If spice jars live in three different cabinets, a dedicated pull-out or tiered drawer insert puts them in one place.
Converting fixed pantry shelves to pull-outs is one of the most useful upgrades we do. Boxes and cans come forward with the shelf.
High shelves collect things you never see. We look at pull-down units or simple tiered inserts for the uppers.
Freestanding cans get kicked and smell. A cabinet pull-out with lids or a door-mounted unit tucks them away.
Off-the-shelf organizers often hit the hinges. Ours are built to the actual clear opening, measured on site.

DetailA 1980s two-story near North Side, a typical kitchen for Itasca. Before: honey-oak cathedral raised-panel cabinets with worn finish near the handles, brass knobs. The reason for the call: deep base cabinets where pots got lost at the back. After: two wooden roll-out shelves in the deep base cabinet, pots and pans in neat rows that slide out to the front. On site this meant cabinet-by-cabinet review, mounting slides, plus installing roll-out shelves.

AfterThis one is a 1980s two-story in Wood Dale. What we started with: golden-oak cabinets with oak soffits above. The reason for the call: solid cabinets with fixed shelves nobody could reach into. Finished kitchen: two wooden roll-out shelves in the deep base cabinet, pots and pans in neat rows that slide out to the front. The job covered measuring the clear openings, installing roll-out shelves, plus adjustment and walkthrough.
