After-remodel cleanup problems we handle in Chicagoland

Construction dust is finer than household dust and settles back down for days after a broom stirs it up. Our crew in Chicagoland removes it properly: HEPA vacuuming first, then wiping every surface, inside the new cabinets, along the trim and in the vent registers.

Grout haze on new tile

A cloudy film on fresh backsplash or floor tile is grout residue. We remove it with a cleaner suited to the tile once the grout has cured as directed.

Paint specks and caulk smears

We remove paint spatter and caulk smudges from tile, glass and hardware, carefully and without harsh solvents on new finishes.

Debris and dust on windows

We clean the window glass and frames in the kitchen and remove any paint on the glass.

Dust inside new cabinets and drawers

Construction dust settles in drawer corners and on shelf pins. Each cabinet interior gets vacuumed and wiped.

Cleanup before moving back in

Before your dishes go back, the kitchen should be fully dust-free. We do the cleaning so move-in day is about unpacking.

Dust in vents and returns

Dust drawn into the registers and return grilles blows back out when the heat or air comes on. We vacuum and wipe the covers and the openings we can reach.

Fine drywall dust on every surface

That white film on everything is gypsum dust from sanding. It takes several passes, starting at the top of the room, to get it off for good.

Stickers and labels on new appliances

Peeling the film off stainless leaves a sticky residue. We take it off carefully and clean the surface along the grain.

What we clean

  • Debris pickupWe clear packaging, small scraps and loose debris before cleaning starts.
  • HEPA vacuuming top to bottomWe vacuum from the top of the room down with HEPA machines to capture fine dust.
  • Inside cabinets and drawersWe clean the inside of all cabinets and drawers so they are ready for dishes.
  • Vents, returns and fixturesRegister covers, return grilles, light fixtures and outlet covers are cleaned.
  • Grout haze and spot cleanupWe clean grout film from tile and take off paint and adhesive spots.
  • Appliances, sink and windowsAppliance interiors, the new sink and faucet, and the windows and tracks are cleaned.
  • Final floor cleanWe finish with the floor, using a cleaner safe for the material.

Post-Renovation Cleaning: common questions

When should the cleaning be scheduled?
Once the contractor is done and the floor protection is up. If any work remains, it's best to wait.
Can you clean grout haze off new tile?
Yes, once the grout has cured as directed. We pick a cleaner based on the tile; stone gets a stone-safe product.
Do you remove stickers and protective film?
Yes. Sticker removal is part of every post-renovation clean.
Do you clean the HVAC vents?
Yes for vent covers and returns. If a lot of dust got into the ductwork, ask about duct cleaning.
Will you damage my new finishes?
We remove loose dust before wiping, use non-scratch tools and test products on hidden spots first.
