Cabinet problems pull-outs fix in Lake Zurich

Most base cabinets are deep enough to lose a stockpot in. In Lake Zurich we measure each opening, build roll-out shelves to fit between the hinges and install them on full-extension slides, so everything in the cabinet comes out to you.

Original 1980s cabinets with fixed shelves

Many 1980s kitchens still have deep, fixed lower shelves. As long as the boxes are solid, roll-outs retrofit well.

Doors and hinges in the way

Two-door cabinets with a center stile need a different setup than single-door ones. We plan the pull-outs around that.

Kneeling to reach the back of the cabinet

Back-of-cabinet items go unused because they're hard to get to. A sliding shelf puts them in reach without kneeling.

Baking sheets and cutting boards jammed in

When the cutting board is buried under baking pans, a divided cabinet stores them upright in slots.

Messy cabinet under the sink

Cleaning bottles crowded around the trap are hard to reach. Under-sink pull-outs are built around the pipes, not on top of them.

Spices crowding the counter

If spice jars live in three different cabinets, a dedicated pull-out or tiered drawer insert puts them in one place.

Cramped upper cabinets

If the top shelf of the wall cabinets is out of reach, a pull-down mechanism or reorganized inserts can help.

Lids sliding everywhere

If lids fall out every time the door opens, a divided pull-out gives them a slot each.

Lake Zurich kitchen, 1990s two-story colonial: pull-out shelves & cabinet organizers

The site: a 1990s two-story colonial in Lake Zurich. What we started with: honey-oak cathedral raised-panel cabinets with worn finish near the handles, brass knobs. What bothered the owners most: deep base cabinets where pots got lost at the back. The result: two wooden roll-out shelves in the deep base cabinet, pots and pans in neat rows that slide out to the front. The job covered mounting slides, installing roll-out shelves, plus dividers and inserts.

Pull-Out Shelves & Cabinet Organizers questions from Lake Zurich homeowners

Can you put pull-outs under the sink?
Under-sink pull-outs are common. They're sized to clear the plumbing and any filter or hot-water tank.
What's the best pull-out organizer for kitchen cabinets?
There's no single best. We match the organizer to what you store and the shape of the cabinet.
Do pull-outs fit older cabinets?
Usually. We check that the sides and frame are solid enough to carry the slides, and add spacers where the face frame overhangs.
Can pull-outs go in upper cabinets?
Sometimes. Pull-down shelves and shallow inserts can work in uppers; full roll-outs are more common in base and pantry cabinets.
Do pull-out shelves work for deep cabinets?
Yes. The deeper the cabinet, the more you gain, since nothing stays hidden at the back.
Do I need a Lake Zurich-registered contractor for pull-out shelf installation?
All contractors and subcontractors must register with the Village before work: form, $120 annual fee (Illinois-licensed plumbers exempt), signed $10,000 surety bond. Village pages show differing fee amounts ($110/$120/$125). We take care of that before work starts.
Do I need a permit for pull-out shelf installation in Lake Zurich?
It depends on the scope. Lake Zurich's rule in short: Permit required for remodeling (kitchen, bath, basement). We handle the permit when one is needed with Building and Zoning Division (Community Services Department).
Do you work in my part of Lake Zurich?
Yes. Our crews work across Lake Zurich — ZIP 60047 — and nearby Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights.
